The San Jose Sharks and Zoom have partnered to bring the work of local artists to the Zoom Suite Level at SAP Center at San Jose. The project was consistent with both organizations’ investment in art and had two main objectives: (1) provide a platform for local artists that represent the diverse San Jose community, with equity across all artists and (2) use art to drive action and conversation around inclusivity and equity, aligning with the Sharks and Zoom’s values.
In order to create the artwork, San Jose Sharks and Zoom engaged with Local Color and a community lead advisory group to assist in the development of the theme for this body of work. The advisory group also selected six different artists to execute the six murals. Local Color, acting as a single point of contact for the artists, advisors, and stakeholders, helped with the equity, communication, and consistency in the project.
The murals will be present for all events at SAP Center and will be displayed in six locations on the Zoom Suite Level. The murals will be large-format and printed to fit within spaces have never been used for artwork. The murals will be high impact and visible from both the suite level and the main concourse.
