My name is Michele, and I’m a 1st generation Filipino American illustrator in the Bay Area.  A huge part of my work is rooted in healing and empowering others in my diaspora community through reconnecting to their Heritage, whether that be through illustrating cultural fashion, food or mythos. 

I mixed my love of mythology and art together to create DIWATA, a project where I introduce a young generation of Filipino Americans to Filipino Deities throughout the Philippines.  It’s the most fulfilling project I’ve created to date, as I’ve been able to share knowledge, and watch others become more confident and at peace with themselves, and grow interested in reconnecting with their community. 

When I'm not working on Diwata, I created whimsical illustrations with traditional mediums to make people feel happy and uplifted.
